FAQ

How much multimedia should an eLearning course contain?

The answer will depend on what you want. If you're looking for quick information delivery, then less is likely to be the best. But if your goal is to provide training that will teach people how to do something then less may be more.

The key thing is that you need to know what you want to achieve from your eLearning course. You also need to understand what your learners expect from your course. This will help you ensure you have sufficient content to meet your goals.

Let's take, for instance:

If you want to teach people about using Microsoft Word, then it would be best to include lots of examples of text documents. If you are trying to teach people Excel, however, they will need to see many different types.

You should also consider whether images or video are best to illustrate concepts.

Video is great at showing how to do something, but not so well for explaining complex topics. It can also be expensive to produce. Although images are easier to create, they don't have the same emotional impact of a video.

So, the bottom line is this - you need to think carefully about what you want to achieve before designing your eLearning course.

How do I pick the best eLearning platform for me?

There are thousands of eLearning platforms available today. Some are completely free, others more expensive.

When choosing between these options, you need to ask yourself some questions.

  • Do I want to design my own learning materials You can create your own eLearning courses with a variety of free tools. These include Adobe Captivate. Articulate Storyline. Lectora. iSpring Suite. And Camtasia.
  • Do you offer ready-made courses in eLearning? There are many companies that sell pre-packaged courses. They cost from $20 to $100 for each course. The most popular ones include Mindjet, Edusoft, and Thinkful.
  • Are you looking for a mix of both? Many people find that combining their own materials and those of a company produces the best results.
  • Which option is best? It all depends on what your situation is. If you are new at eLearning you may prefer to create your own material. However, once you have gained experience, you may want to consider purchasing a pre-designed course.

How do I get started with eLearning?

If you don't already know how to create online courses, then it's best to start small. A tutorial or quiz could be a good idea.

This will allow you to move on to more difficult projects once you have mastered it. If you don't know HTML well, it is a good idea not to begin by creating lessons from pre-built templates.

Why do many prefer taking eLearning courses?

The reasons for this are simple. They are flexible. There is no need to go to classes at a specific time or place. Second, online learning is possible. Thirdly, you can learn in a relaxed environment. Lastly, they are cost-effective.
